Ellie and I had our first slumber party. I am sure there will be many more to come and will get sillier as she gets older. This is a special little treat (shh don't tell Daddy!) ;)

A Visit from Grandma
This week my mom came to visit. Ben was at camp with the middle school students, so we had some good girl time. Ellie has missed her Daddy very much, but has sent him pictures everyday. While my mom was here we did lots of shopping, lots of eating, went to the park for swinging and feeding the ducks, went to the bakery for sweets, saw old friends from Florida, and did lots of playing. You will see Ellie has moved to sitting in her stroller like a big girl and tried a highchair in a restaurant for the first time. We are still a little tiny, but at 8 1/2 months we are getting a little long to be in our carrier all the time. Again, my mom took a lot more pictures than I did, but here are a few that I got.
A Trip to Raleigh
A couple of weeks ago we went to Raleigh for the weekend. We played, did a little shopping, played a game of dominoes, ate lots of good food, Ellie met some new friends and Ellie had a great time playing with Geep and Gran. I only got a few pictures, but Gran got tons, to see more check out Geep and Gran's facebook pages.

Playtime at The Holden House
Our Healthy Eater
Mover and a Shaker
Ellie is very close to crawling. She is able to get on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth. She also is the queen of rolling. She starts in the family room and ends up in the breakfast area somehow maneuvering around the furniture to get there. She is very proud of how she can get new places, but it means more work for Mommy and Daddy :)
Warming Up
8 Months Old
Ellie turned 8 months old on July 11th. She is getting bigger every day and is getting more personality every day. As you can see from the pictures, she is not sitting still much. She loves to roll all over the place, so picture taking on the floor has become more of a challenge. She loves to eat and loves to watch Maggie, our cat. She is very laid back and goes with the flow. We can take her everywhere and she is great. We can't wait to see how much she has grown at her 9 month doctor's appointment!

Ellie's First Mission Week
The week after Father's Day Ben led Mission Week, which is when our middle school students do service projects around Charlotte. They do 2 a day for 3 days and it is a great way for them to learn to serve in their community. It is something that I enjoy doing as well. With Ellie my time is limited in volunteering for some events, but Ellie and I were able to serve when we could and we even went to Crisis Assistance Ministry and Ellie got to serve at her first Mission Week project by helping to fold and sort clothes!
Ben's First Father's Day
This post is very late, but we have been very busy and I am just know playing catch up on the blog. This year was Ben's first Father's Day. He works on Sundays, so he worked from 9-12:45ish, came home and did school work and then we went to a wedding. He did, however, come home to his presents. I wrapped presents for him to share with Ellie on his ultimate gift. Ellie even helped him with the wrapping paper :) We are taking him to the beach! He has been wanting to go to the beach and has been very busy this summer. I decided he deserved a much needed break, so after his summer slows down we are going on our first family vacation. Ben and I recently realized we don't go on vacations hardly at all. All our trips involve visiting extended family or traveling with extended family, which we like doing, but are very excited to start our family tradition of family trips and celebrate what a great dad and husband Ben is!
