A New Sleeping Spot

It less than 24 hours for Maggie to find her new sleeping spot. She has been known to sleep with Ellie in her crib and was my sleeping buddy the last weeks of my pregnancy as well as Quinn's two weeks in our room, even sleeping on me in some cases, she has discovered Ellie's big girl bed. We suspected it would be a favorite spot of hers and every night and during naptime it is where we find Maggie. She sleeps right next to Ellie and was sleeping on her pillow just the other night when I checked on Ellie. Even though Ellie chases her around she still has a soft place in her heart for her.

Quinn's Room

Tuesday night Quinn moved into her room. Though we did not change anything other than a new sheet and I made a new pillow for the rocker, it is now Quinn's room and Ellie has been great about understanding that that is where Quinn sleeps now.

Ellie's Big Girl Room Reveal

Ellie is now sleeping in her big girl bed. We finished up her room Monday and she spent her first night in her big girl room. It has been a huge success. Ben did an amazing job with her furniture, building it all himself, and he did a great job showing her big girl room. She loves it and wanted to "play longer" in there. She has done great sleeping in her bed and is not aware that she can get out herself, which is perfect for Mom and Dad. Ben still has a couple projects such as a bookcase, little desk that will fold up to a chalkboard and will hang on the wall, a stool to go with the desk, a two step step stool and a ledge to go over her bed to put things such as an alarm clock. We are also going to let Ellie pick out a fish for her new fish tank and have some art to buy and hang and then we will move her decals around a bit. Ben is at the end of his semester so he is a little busy to say the least and so once he has finished we will begin finishing up the details. Her room looks amazing and we have now realized we have a real family home in which all our rooms are utilized and it is not just a small family living in a big house with rooms that are rarely used.

Back to our Exercises

I was walking 5-6 days a week before Quinn came, even less than 24 hours before she came, so I was happy to get back to it this week. I waited two weeks and waited for Quinn's support for the stroller to come in. This week I am only walking 3 days and then next week back to 5 as I am trying to ease into it :) But I have missed walking and want to get my body back in shape. I have lost the weight, but need to tone everything back up, so I am excited to be back to my exercise routine and getting ready for summer pool time! Ellie loves walks and we are showing Quinn how to love walks too!

Social Butterfly

Once we had Quinn we have not slowed down. I want to keep Ellie's life as normal as possible and playdates with our buddy Ethan every week are a must. So once Quinn was a week old and I could drive we were right back to our weekly playdates. This past week we met Ethan and his mommy and his baby sister, who is four weeks older than Quinn, at the park to play and feed the ducks and then we all enjoyed lunch out. Kendall and Quinn were in their slings and will one day be best buddies just like Ethan and Ellie and their mommies.

Quinnytunes

Here are a few shots of Quinn. She has been a great baby and perfect fit into our family. She goes with the flow and only really cries when she is going to sleep and wants to eat. She enjoys her tummy time much more than Ellie did and will lay there without crying while Ellie and I play with other things. She tolerates Ellie's squeezies and Ellie putting water in her hair during water play outside. She also travels well and does not cry, which is perfect, as Ellie has a busy social life and we are always going places and doing things.

More Water Fun

Nana, PopPop and Great GrannyFranny sent Ellie a gift from Tennessee to play with when Quinn came so Ellie would have something new too. She loves her water table. It provides great fun for her and we are looking forward to putting sand on the other side to have a little sand fun too!
