The World of Solids

We have entered the world of solid foods with our Quinny. I make all the food for the girls when they are babies so I am getting my supply in order. Quinn has tried cereal (as seen in these pictures) and bananas and we are starting sweet potatoes this week. The cereal wasn't a big hit, but it never is at first, but it has grown on her. Ellie used to open wide for her food, but Quinn is like a little vacuum. She slurps it in like a vacuum sucks up dirt. It is funny to watch and seems silly, but she finishes off her food every time with no complaints.

"I don't know about this!"

"It might not be too bad."

"On second thought, that was horrible!"

4 Months

Four months have flown by. Quinn is doing more and more everyday and before we know it she will be up and crawling. She went to the doctor and had gained very little weight so we are measuring out her milk right now and feeding her lots of bottles so we know what she is getting. I am hoping to phase that out in the next two weeks and get her back to only a night time bottle. She is sleeping through the night like a champ. She goes to bed around 5:30 or 6 and 6 is pushing the limit and sleeps until about 6 or 7 the next morning. She eats about every 3 hours and loves to play and catches a small morning nap and a longer afternoon nap at the same time Ellie has rest time. She loves Ellie and Ellie can always make her smile. You can tell she is itching to be able to do what Ellie does. She is always happy and content and only gets upset if she is tired, hungry or has a dirty diaper. She goes with the flow pretty much and in this house that is a must. She has rolled from her tummy to her back a few times and loves to talk lately. She has also started solid foods. Ellie is a great help with her and loves to snuggle her and always loves kissing her goodnight. We can't imagine what we did without our little Quinny.

Around the House

We love to play and do crafts. On this day we enjoyed some tunnel time, paint mixing and play mat time.

Creative Lunches

I am trying to create fun lunches and dinners for Ellie so it makes her more excited about eating different foods. She eats the same foods all the time with very little deviation so I had to think of new ways to get her to eat. I have to say I love to cook and create things in the kitchen so I am having just as much fun making things as she is having eating them!

Girls' Movie Night

I am so excited that Ellie is getting to the stage we can have movie nights. Ben did an all nighter with the middle school students so Ellie and I had a girls' night. We watched the movie "Tangled", which was super cute, and ate popcorn. She got to stay up a little late and she got to sleep with Mommy in the big bed (Mommy and Daddy's bed), which only happens when Daddy is out of town. Ellie made it through the whole movie and wanted to tell me everything she was seeing. She also loved her popcorn and we are looking forward to making it a whole family event on a regular basis so Daddy can enjoy the fun too.

Quinny

Quinn is growing fast and such a little sweetie. She loves to smile and giggle. She has also found her voice and loves to express herself to anyone who would like to listen.

Dress Up Fun

Ellie has found a new love of dress up. Our friends gave us one princess outfit and GrannyFranny (my grandmother) gave her a new red skirt for dress up and I just made her a tutu to add to her collection. Here are some great pictures of her wonderful style!
