Day with Geep and Gran

A few weeks ago Ben gave a training for volunteers for MAXlife that was all day and as a volunteer I had to also attend. Being gone all day we had Ben's parents, Geep and Gran, watch Ellie. They had a great time and got a few pictures to document their time together.

Sous Chef

When I have time I am loving sewing. I decided to make Ellie a little apron she could wear while we cooked. Ben's only request was that it be just like mine. I finished it a few weeks ago and I must say it is pretty cute!

Playdough Fun

We had our first experience with play dough and it went pretty well. Ellie only tried to eat it a few times, but other than that she loved playing with it.

Beach Trip 2011

We were so excited to go on our yearly beach trip in August. It is a wonderful time for our family to get away, spend some much needed time together and relax. We always have a great time and this year Ellie was so much fun. Last year the pool was her best friend, this year it was the beach. She has no fear, so the waves did not scare her at all. She loved playing in the sand and walking around the beach and she was obsessed with the water. She would wake up after each nap and every morning saying "Wa" (which is water to her). She could not wait. We can not wait to go back next year! Of course we were having so much fun that pictures are few, but we did snap a few!

30 years

In August I hit the big 3-0! I am looking forward to this next decade and all it will bring. As my grandmother told me, 30-35 are the best years of your life mentally and physically! I told her I was excited on one hand, but on the other, would about the rest of those years :) (Thanks for the wisdom Granmary!!) The first 30 years were more than I ever could have imagined. Ben gave me beautiful flowers and delicious dessert as well as an individual cup coffeemaker, which I am so excited about.

A Little Green Thumb After All

I come from a long line of very talented gardeners and landscapers, but that gift has seemed to pass me by, or so I thought. On Mother's Day Ellie and I planted some sunflowers out back and this summer they bloomed. I felt very accomplished at finally achieving being able to grow something from a seed. Who knows maybe next year I will tackle growing a small garden.

Daddy at the Splashpark

Ben wanted to experience the splashpark after hearing about all our adventures. Ellie enjoyed showing him all the fun you could have there and we all can't wait to go back next year!

Hanging at the House

This summer we did a lot of playing around the house on those hot afternoons. Ellie enjoyed playing dress up and Seth enjoyed Ellie dressing him up.

Summer Pool Time

We enjoyed some summer pool time in the backyard and Seth was a good sport about going with the flow.

A Visit From Nana

Back at the end of July my mom came to visit while Ben was at summer camp with the middle school students. It is our usual girl time and we stay super busy. We shopped, went to the Splashpark, went to Discovery Place kids, went to some favorite restaraunts and made some favorite meals. We also did a little sewing and lots of playing. My mom took all the pictures, thank goodness, so we got some good ones. Seth also tagged along with us on our adventures. Here are a few pictures from our time together. The Discovery Place ones I will have to post at a later time.
