Outdoor Fun

We have been enjoying the outdoors. I love to get the girls out and since it is summer there is no better time to enjoy the fun outside. We met up with some friends recently at the park and the girls enjoyed the swings. I am also making sure to try new fun activities at home this summer to get some new fun ideas for the outdoors. I made sidewalk chalk paint and Ellie had a blast! (I have to admit I had a great time painting too!) It rained that night and it completely disappeared, so it was a success for everyone as Daddy likes it to be washable. We also met up with some new and old friends at our favorite splash pad a couple weeks ago and though Quinny was slow to warm up to the idea, she ended up loving the water and would smile and giggle with Ellie. We are heading back there this week, so I am sure Quinn will be much faster to warm up this time around!

These two are too cute! Ellie loves to push Quinn and Quinn gets a big grin when she says Ellie coming to push her!

While Ellie painted Quinn watched, and yes, those are empty fruit snack bags in her hands. She loves to reach her hand in them and then pretend she is eating fruit snacks. Her imagination is already at full steam ahead and she keeps us laughing. Try taking them from her and she will scream!

On The Move

Quinny is getting closer to walking on her own everyday. She is walking with her cart or stroller and will walk while we hold her hands. She is so proud of herself and smiles proudly as she does it. It won't be long until she is walking all on her own and Ellie is eagerly waiting for her to!

Mommy's Little Helper

We have got another little Mommy around here. Ellie is always helping me to do chores and take care of Quinn. Now we have got another little Mommy. She loves to take care of her "BoBo" as she calls her baby and is now helping with laundry and dishes. Before I know it I will be able to sit back and relax. :)

Summer has arrived...

We are so excited that summer is here (basically) and that the splash pads and pool have opened for the season! We love being part of our pool. There is never a ton of people there and they have a great kids pool and slide that Ellie enjoys. This year our friends Andy, Katie and Baby Laine (as we like to call her) joined the pool too so we are already enjoying time with them there. Ellie is loving it again this summer and loves to pull Quinn around in her float. Quinn is learning to love it. It has been cold so she doesn't love the initial entrance into the water, but warms up to it quickly and has a good time. We are looking forward to many more pool days this summer!

We are also very excited to start going to all our local splash pads! This past week we met our friends Ethan and Kendall at one and are looking forward to meeting some friends next week at our favorite one where we get to ride the train too! Our summer is starting off great!

While Ellie plays, Quinny likes to munch up on her snacks! We are always happy to oblige since a little weight on her body is a very good thing!

Setharoo

The last weekend in May we spent the day watching our friend Seth. His family was in a small group we were part of before we all had kids. I have also watched Seth before when he was just 5 months old for one summer. We love his family and love him! They live just around the corner from us and we enjoy having play dates with them when his Mom has breaks from teaching. Ellie loves her Seth and we were very excited to watch him for the day while his Mommy and Daddy were at the hospital having his new little brother, Elliot. Ellie enjoyed having a playmate for the day that walked and talked just like her. We hope to spend some more time with Seth very soon and meet his sweet little brother!

Family Favorite

We are beginning to enjoy movies with Ellie and even Quinn stays up a little longer. The other night we combined movie night and our family favorite, Stromboli night, for one special evening. I have found an amazing recipe for homemade Stromboli and it has quickly become a family favorite. The other night we enjoyed them while we watched the movie "Brave".
