My Little Green Thumb

Ellie helped me plant my Mother's Day plant this week. Hopefully, she has a greener thumb than her mother and takes after her Grandpa the farmer!

6 Months Old

Ellie turned 6 months old on May 11th. The time is flying by. She can roll over from her back to her tummy and loves doing it. She is practicing sitting up on her own. She loves to go outside, play with toys, cuddle with mommy and she loves her daddy. When daddy comes in a room she is all smiles. She is eating all types of food and loves smiling. We went to the doctor for her 6 month appointment. She did a great job and was all smiles until the shots (or as we call them in our house bing-bings) came out. She screamed less during them, but whimpered for a while after, but took a nap and was her happy self. Here are her stats:

Height: 26 inches (75th percentile)
Weight: 12 lbs. 1 oz. (5th percentile)

The doctor thinks she had a growth spurt right before we came for height, but we have to start eating more snacks. Ellie is a great eater and eats all the time, but we are now going to eat a little more. She is very healthy and growing great! Here are a few pictures from her photo shoot. The second on is the best picture, she is so cute!!!

My 1st Mommy's Day

This year was my first Mother's Day and it was very special. I have waited a long time to be a mother and it has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. I could not have asked for a more perfect little girl to be a mommy to!

Lucky for me, my celebration lasted for more than one day. It started on Friday with a delivery of sunflowers (one of my favorites) sent by my mom with a very sweet card! Then on Saturday Ellie made me a special card in her Meckidz room at church!

Then on Sunday I got a beautiful Mandevilla that was waiting for me on the back patio when I came downstairs. Sunday, Ellie even slept in until 8:30! When Ben came home from work he gave me my next gift which was a water bottle shaker to mix smoothies. We have been working out around here so it was a great gift to have! We ended our evening with dinner at Bravo and I watched a movie and took a long bath!

A couple days later, as Ellie's schedule allowed, Ben and Ellie made a very special card for me! Daddy helped with words and some of the pictures, but I was told Ellie held a crayon herself and added an artistic touch!

It was a wonderful Mother's day and I am happy to have spent it with my two favorite people!

Mommy's Cafe

Mommy's Cafe has expanded its menu. I now make sweet potatoes and bananas for babies. I had wanted to try and make baby food and got a great little book from a friend, so we gave it a try. Ellie eats a few foods that I could make here at home so we tried it. It was so easy and my sous chef, Ellie, taste tested the recipes and they were great. I am looking forward to making more foods for her since it was so easy and it is healthier for her. Here is my little helper already getting used to helping mommy in the kitchen.

Meeting More Family

Friday Ellie got to meet some more family. She got to meet her Great GrannyFranny, Great Aunt Paula, cousin Jenny and second cousin Abigail. We were excited to see them and glad they got to meet Ellie. We hope to see them again soon!

Little Big Girl

Ellie is becoming more of big girl everyday. She is still quite tiny, but is accomplishing some big girl tasks. We have graduated to our high chair seat. She loved to eat her toes along with her green beans, so we have moved to sitting at the table like a big girl. She is loving it. She has a wonderful view of the kitchen while I make up her food and she is able to eat better. We have now expanded our menu items to more than just cereal. Mommy's restaurant now makes sweet potatoes, green beans and bananas. This week we will also be adding carrots to our extensive menu. Ellie has enjoyed all of her options and still enjoys her cereal and milk. She always slurps up those green beans (she must take after her mom when it comes to green beans) :)

What a Deal!

I always enjoy getting a good deal. I usually make my grocery list and go to several stores to get the best deals. The stores are all within 1 mile of each other, so it is not too bad to go to multiple stores. I usually shop at Aldi and Walmart and only buy things on sale at Harris Teeter. This week was triple coupons at Harris Teeter and so I was determined to save money, I just didn't know I would save over $56.00. My coupons combined with my VIC card savings and my $10 off e-vic savings got us all of this for $25.59!

We got some extra treats we don't usually get, some cleaning supplies and some great items for meals this month. I was so excited to get home and tell Ben. I would have to say I think he was pretty impressed! And Ellie was a wonderful helper. She was very patient and talked to herself while Mommy had to take the extra time to search out the deals.

New Little Buddies

Maggie has found herself a new little sleeping buddy. I posted a few days ago that Maggie has discovered that Ellie has a good quality, being a sleeping buddy. Maggie is becoming more comfortable around Ellie and though she still does not understand why Ellie has invaded her space, she is beginning to find some perks. I think Maggie and Ellie are going to have many more naps together!
