School Has Started

We started Mommy School at our home two weeks ago. We have jumped right in and are moving right along. I have made lesson plans and we are enjoying many subjects and focusing on sounds this year. We also do writing, science, social studies, math, fine motor development and bible lessons. Ellie is having a great time and I am having a great time planning and teaching her as well as doing tons of fun projects. Here is a sample of our fun learning!

Last year she wanted to be a princess and now a doctor! She is obsessed with pretending to be a doctor, giving us all many check-ups daily. We always encourage her in her ideas and dreams! At 5, I decided I wanted to be a teacher and I stuck with that plan my whole life, so you never know what her thoughts will materialize into.

Letter Review. Ellie knows her letters, but I bought this book last year and we never used it as I went with something else, so I am using it as a review the first part of the school year.

Fine Motor Skills.

Science. Science for us is mainly many projects, because mixing and combining things to find out what reaction happens is what science is about many times. So this day it was all about sidewalk chalk paint, which we love and use a lot!

Number Ordering.

Science: Making Bouncy Balls. They actually worked.

Science: Foam Dough. She loved it and I even got my feet covered in it as she used it to paint me.

Science: Making Goo. She played with this stuff forever. I  remember loving it as a kid too. This is one we will definitely do over and over!

And what does this cutie toots do while we have school, run around crazy! No, she entertains herself with toys and listens to stories with us. I am also making her some things to build her motor skills while we have school time. But for the most part she is just too cute for words!

Visiting and Enjoying Family

In the beginning of August we enjoyed a visit to Tennessee with my family. We were able to spend lots of good time with Nana and PopPop, Uncle Drew and Miss B, Riley and Xavier, Grandmary and PawPaw, and were able to see my Aunt and Uncle and their 11 kids and their families, who we hadn't see in about 7 years. It was a good visit and it is always good to get away and get to see my family, which doesn't happen as often as we would all like. I will let the pictures do the talking as we did so many things it is hard to mention them all. Sorry this post is going to be a picture overload as I can never pick just a few and my mom takes so many and they are all so good.

The first few shots are at the Nashville Sounds Minor League baseball game. It was Ellie's second baseball game and Quinny's first. They both did great staying up late, since our babies go to bed at 7. Ellie started in the bounce house and she even got the home run ball of the game. She ended by running the bases. It was a great night!

We got great seats! Front row on the first base line. We moved early in the game as their were no nets here and we didn't feel safe with the girls. But still got some great seats right behind home plate.

There she goes with her blue shirt!

We played with lots of bubbles and played chase and kicked balls in Nana and PopPop's huge yard.

Swinging!

Catching fireflies!

Gleaning some wisdom from my Grandmary! Her and PawPaw have taught and continue to teach and guide me in so many ways! God truly blessed me with both of them!

PawPaw and his Quinny

Grandmary got a basket of toys for the girls to enjoy and they LOVED everything!

Chalk time!

Nana and Quinny

PopPop and Nana found an awesome splash pad for us and Nana and I took the girls one morning while Ben did his paper for school.

Arts and Crafts!

First Slip and Slide! I have so many memories of doing this at my grandparents house growing up in Florida!

Pool Diving!

Movie Night sitting in Nana's old childhood chairs!

My Family!

Uncle Drew and Ellie

Pool time!

How can you not love this crazy girl!

Miss B and I. So excited to be having her as a permanent member of our family very soon, even though she already feels as if she is! Looking forward to many more years of times together!!

Quinny getting to know Miss B's brother, Anthony. She just took right to him! She does take right to guys!
