School Has Started

We started Mommy School at our home two weeks ago. We have jumped right in and are moving right along. I have made lesson plans and we are enjoying many subjects and focusing on sounds this year. We also do writing, science, social studies, math, fine motor development and bible lessons. Ellie is having a great time and I am having a great time planning and teaching her as well as doing tons of fun projects. Here is a sample of our fun learning!

Last year she wanted to be a princess and now a doctor! She is obsessed with pretending to be a doctor, giving us all many check-ups daily. We always encourage her in her ideas and dreams! At 5, I decided I wanted to be a teacher and I stuck with that plan my whole life, so you never know what her thoughts will materialize into.

Letter Review. Ellie knows her letters, but I bought this book last year and we never used it as I went with something else, so I am using it as a review the first part of the school year.

Fine Motor Skills.

Science. Science for us is mainly many projects, because mixing and combining things to find out what reaction happens is what science is about many times. So this day it was all about sidewalk chalk paint, which we love and use a lot!

Number Ordering.

Science: Making Bouncy Balls. They actually worked.

Science: Foam Dough. She loved it and I even got my feet covered in it as she used it to paint me.

Science: Making Goo. She played with this stuff forever. I  remember loving it as a kid too. This is one we will definitely do over and over!

And what does this cutie toots do while we have school, run around crazy! No, she entertains herself with toys and listens to stories with us. I am also making her some things to build her motor skills while we have school time. But for the most part she is just too cute for words!

I will have to agree.....that tootie cutes is too adorable! Ellie is so smart I know she will catch on to anything quickly. She looks like she is enjoying science. I know she will love school. She will also be a great teacher for cutie toots (or Quinn)!
