Quinny Turns 2

We can not believe our little Quinny is two already!! She may not be big in size, but she is BIG in personality and independence! We went for her two year check-up and she is not on the scale for her height, but I was always the shortest in my class at school, so it seems she will be like Mom. (At her appointment she threw a fit when they tried to weigh and measure her and kept saying, "I too little!", it was the funniest and cutest thing and of course gets her more love from the nurses.) Our Quinny is a spitfire. We call her our little hambone. She loves cuddles and playing with her sister. She definitely makes herself known and charms just about anyone that comes her way. She has not met a stranger and will freely give out snuggles to the people she meets, preferably men who look like her PopPop. :) She loves animals of any kind and loves to "read" books on her own as well as listen to books. She has always captured our hearts as well as strangers with her eyes. She has always been the perfect addition to our family and has the unending love of her sister!

For birthdays we like to do something fun for their birthday or around their birthday, so we went to the zoo! Ben had the day off since it was Easter Monday and he thought it was a good idea to go then instead of later in the week. We went to the Columbia Zoo, since we had not been there. It was great for walking with the girls as everything was close together and you got to feed the giraffes there! As far as animals we found the North Carolina Zoo to be better, but has tons of walking. The girls had a great time and enjoyed seeing the animals and we were able to visit their favorite animals multiple times since the zoo was more compact.
The night before we put the Easter decorations away and let Ellie stay up to help us decorate. She was super excited to decorate for Quinn since her and I had a special shopping trip the day before to buy the decorations and a gift for Quinn from Ellie. We then started the birthday day by letting Quinn open one gift to take with her to the zoo. We then went to the zoo and made it home for a spaghetti dinner (Quinn's favorite right now) and then opened presents and had cake. Her birthday theme was Elmo, or as she calls him "Melmo". I made her cake, which I was super excited about making and how it turned out. Quinn was so excited and Ellie was just as excited to show her everything she had helped with. It was a wonderful day to celebrate our sweet little Quinny!

What an awesome job you, Ben and Ellie did for Quinny's birthday. The cake is unbelievable! Congrats on a job well done! Love the zoo pics and feeding the giraffes. Sounds like a birthday to remember!
